Paperman

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Actually I haven’t really cared much for Valentine’s Day since I was a little kid and it meant making funny little mailboxes to hang on your desk to receive all the goofy little Valentine’s Day cards they sell for kids to give away. Actually I have no idea if they even sell those kinds of things anymore. At any rate my husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in any way, not even in card form so it’s just another day for me. Though it is my parents’ anniversary, so happy anniversary to my mom (my dad doesn’t read my blog so no anniversary wishes to him, at least here).

Anyway, I’m sure most of you have already seen this Disney animation short, Paperman, as I saw many people linking to it after Disney posted it on YouTube a few weeks ago, ostensibly to garner favor for it by Oscar voters. I however have been saving it in my back pocket for a day in February when I didn’t have anything else I wanted to write about on this blog. I actually saw this Disney short prior to Wreck It Ralph, when I saw that movie in the theater. It is delightful too by the way. If you haven’t seen it I’m sure it’s either already out on DVD or about to come out DVD so you should watch it when it’s available.

I find Paperman to be quite a lovely little movie, though I do wonder what kids thought of it given that it’s a black and white, silent film about love. I thought it would be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for my readers who haven’t seen it yet. And even if you have seen it please to enjoy it again.
